Name Rainy Lake Stoneware Cone 6 Clay
Description Medium texture plastic stoneware formulated primarily for throwing. Vitreous at cone 9, this clay is suitable for oxidation or reduction firing. Virtually sulfur free. Buff in oxidation – rich golden brown in reduction.
Temperature Range Fires Between Cone 6-9, 2232-2300° F
Shrinkage Cone 6 - 11%, Cone 9 - 12%
Absorption Cone 6 - 2.3%, Cone 9 - 1.8%

Best Use Throwing, Oxidation, Reduction
Color Buff – Oxidation, Rich Golden Brown - Reduction

Glazes Use glazes that mature between cone 5 and 8. (Minnesota Clay Premium Stoneware Glazes)

Due to the suspension of operations at the Custer Feldspar mine and plant, we reformulated this clay body with G200 EU feldspar.
